Man wanted over New Forest stabbing is open prison absconder

A man wanted over a stabbing at a New Forest holiday park absconded from an open prison in Derbyshire in April, police have revealed. Charlie Casey, 22 is believed to have stabbed the 24-year-old Welsh woman, at Oakdene Forest Park, St Leonards, at about 20:00 BST on Wednesday. Police said Casey absconded from HMP Sudbury in April. Dorset Police said Casey could be in the Binfield, Slough or Gwent areas. He is described as white, 6ft 1in tall and of average build. He has short dark brown hair and blue eyes and speaks with an Irish accent. Police have urged people not to approach him. Det Sgt Andy Bell, from Bournemouth CID, said: "If members of the public see anyone matching the description, or anyone hiding or acting in a suspicious or unusual way, then I would urge them to call their local police straight away. "I would also like to make it clear that anyone found to be helping, harbouring or in any way aiding Casey will be arrested." The woman is being treated in hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. |
