http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/may/22/henrik-larsson-celtic-manager-neil-lennon-quits Version 0 of 1. Henrik Larsson has responded to the news of Neil Lennon leaving Celtic by saying that he definitely sees himself managing the club at some time but that he is fully focused on his current job in charge of Falkenberg in Sweden. Celtic are looking for a new manager after Lennon resigned on Thursday following a meeting with the club’s majority shareholder Dermot Desmond in Dublin on Monday afternoon. Larsson, who played for Celtic between 1997 and 2004 and scored 174 goals in 221 league games, took over as manager of Falkenberg at the start of 2014, after a spell in charge of Landskrona and working as an assistant at his childhood club Hogaborg. Falkenberg currently sit 11th in the Swedish top-flight Allsvenskan. “I have very good contact with the club. And ever since I stopped playing and started this path [managerial career] it is a job I am always going to be linked with,” he told fotbollskanalen.se. “Of course I see myself as a manager of the club that meant so much for me and my career. But right now all my focus is on Falkenberg.” Falkenberg struggled at the beginning of the season but are unbeaten in four and have set a Swedish record of scoring in 45 consecutive home games. “The main thing, by far, is that we manage to stay up,” Larsson said. |
