Melton 'disturbance': Man taken to hospital and roads closed Melton 'shooting': One man dead and another injured

A man has been taken to hospital following reports of a "disturbance" in an East Yorkshire village. One man has died and another is in hospital following a possible "firearm disturbance" in a Yorkshire village.
The Yorkshire Ambulance Service said it was called to an address in Melton, near North Ferriby, at about 17:00 BST. Officers were called to Melton near Hull at about 17:00 BST where they found two injured men, one of whom had serious wounds and died at the scene.
Three ambulances and two doctors were sent to the scene and one man was taken to the Hull Royal Infirmary. The second man was taken to Hull Royal Infirmary with non life-threatening injuries.
Humberside Police said the area around Melton Old Road had been closed and drivers were being advised to avoid the area until further notice. Three people have been arrested and a large area around Melton Old Road remains cordoned off.
The condition of the injured man is not thought to be life-threatening. A spokesman for Humberside Police said: "Police were called to a residential property in the Melton Old Road area of Melton at around 1700 hrs this evening following reports of a disturbance possibly involving a firearm.
"On arrival, officers found one man at the address who had suffered serious injuries. He was treated at the scene by paramedics but sadly pronounced deceased."
The Yorkshire Ambulance Service said it sent three ambulances and two doctors to the scene.
Drivers are being advised to avoid the area until further notice to allow officers to clear the scene and carry out inquiries.
