Tributes have been paid to a grandmother who died following a two-vehicle crash on a busy dual carriageway in Fife.

Elizabeth Herd, 71, died after the Ford Ka she was driving collided with a lorry on the A92 on Saturday morning.

The crash happened near the Lochgelly junction at about 10:25.

In a statement, her family said: "She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her."

Road policing officers are appealing for witnesses to the crash to come forward.

Sgt Andy Mather said: "The A92 was particularly busy in both directions on Saturday morning.

"Although several witnesses have already approached my officers and provided statements, there may be many more who could also hold vital evidence which can assist our enquiry."
