Belfast: Graffiti attacks were hate crimes say police

Police are treating attacks on two houses in south Belfast as hate crimes.

Graffiti was found sprayed on the buildings at Tavanagh Street and Broadway, off the Donegall Road in the city, on Saturday 17 May.

Earlier this month, police said they would review the number of patrols in areas of Belfast where attacks have taken place.

It followed attacks on a Polish family's home and on a Romanian cyclist in east Belfast.

In April, police said loyalist paramilitaries, the Ulster Volunteer Force (UVF) had been orchestrating racist attacks in south and east Belfast.
