A second woman has been arrested on suspicion of assaulting a resident at an Essex care home following and undercover Panorama investigation. | |
Last month's broadcast appeared to show residents being taunted, roughly handled and ignored at the Old Deanery in Braintree. | |
A woman in her 30s was arrested at her home in Braintree and has been released on police bail until the end of July. | |
Seven staff members have been sacked from the home since the broadcast. | |
On 3 May, a woman in her 40s also from Braintree, was arrested as part of the same inquiry and released on bail. | |
After the documentary was aired, the company released a statement which said the incidents only involved a small number of staff. | |
It added that behaviour of this kind was not tolerated. | |
The 93-bed home is run by Anglia Retirement Homes Ltd and costs up to £700 a week. |
