Version 0 of 1.

Six homeless people have died on the streets of Belfast in the last 18 months, according to the Depaul Trust.

The information has come to light as a result of an all-Ireland memorial service in Dublin, organised in conjunction with the Simon Community.

The two charities recorded 51 homeless deaths in the last year-and-a-half on the island of Ireland. The other 45 all occurred in the greater Dublin area.

However, it is feared that the overall number could be higher.

The memorial service took place at the Unitarian Church on St. Stephen's Green with homeless people in attendance.

Also present were staff and volunteers with both the Depaul Trust and the Simon Community.
