Walsall stabbings: Dead pair 'were husband and wife'

The bodies of David Stringer, 32, and Hayley Stringer, 29, were discovered in Hollemeadow Avenue, Blakenall, at about 03:50 BST on Saturday. A post-mortem examination found both died from stab wounds. West Midlands Police said it was not looking for anyone else in connection with the deaths. A spokesman said the couple were separated. A 19-year-old man initially arrested on suspicion of murder has since been released without charge. Det Insp Justin Spanner said officers were "still to establish the exact circumstances of what happened on Saturday morning". Mrs Stringer's daughters, aged 11, eight and seven, who were asleep in the house at the time of her death, are being cared for by family members, police said. |
