Attempted bank robbery at London's Piccadilly Circus Robbery at Barclays Bank at Piccadilly Circus

Police have been called to a central London bank amid reports of a suspected robbery. A robbery has taken place at a bank in central London.
Metropolitan Police said officers were called to Barclays Bank at Piccadilly Circus just after 09:30 BST Cash was taken from Barclays Bank, Regent Street, at Piccadilly Circus at 09:35 BST, the Metropolitan Police (Met) said.
An eyewitness posted photos on Twitter of an area outside the bank with what appeared to be coin trays on the road. A force spokesman said officers were called to reports of "an aggressive man at the bank". No arrests have been made and no weapon was seen or used.
Richard Barnett tweeted: "Some idiot has tried robbing Barclays Bank next door to my job, left coin trays on pavement #Piccadilly #London . "The man has stolen a quantity of money from the bank and then made off before police arrived," the spokesman added.
One eyewitness posted photos on Twitter of the scene showing cash holders covered in red dye scattered on the ground outside Barclays.
Richard Barnett tweeted: "Some idiot has tried robbing Barclays Bank next door to my job, left coin trays on pavement..."
The area outside the bank remains cordoned off.
