Great White Shark launches extraordinary attack on tourists' rubber dinghy in South Africa
Version 0 of 1. We’re going to need a bigger (and better) boat… was probably what this group of German tourists was thinking after their inflatable rubber dinghy was attacked by a Great White Shark. The attack took place off the coast of Mossel Bay in South Africa and left the small sightseeing expedition fearing for their lives. The 12ft Great White stealthily crept up on the unsuspecting group as they watched for seals in the water, before ramming the boat repeatedly and attempting to rip chunks from the rubber hull. A film crew was riding in the small inflatable vessel when the attack happened and managed to capture the incredible 58-second footage. The boat offered little protection from the creature and the shark managed to cause £2,000 worth of damage, after it partially ripped open and deflated the vessel. Needless to say, the group hastily headed back to land before any further damage could be done and the dinghy sank. |
