Version 0 of 1.

Human remains have been found at a cottage in Aberdeenshire which was destroyed by fire.

The blaze broke out at the property in Crovie at about 19:15 on Tuesday.

A search was being carried out for the cottage's owner - named locally as retired teacher Joan Rennie. The remains of a dog have also been found.

Police Scotland said work was under way to establish the identity of the remains and said there were no suspicious circumstances.

The roof and first floor of the building collapsed, leaving it unsafe for emergency crews to enter. Fire crews took more than two-and-a half hours to extinguish the blaze.
