France condemned an attack on the European Union’s security team in Yemen on Monday that left one Frenchman dead and two others wounded. The Frenchman, employed by a private security company working for the European Union’s delegation, was killed and his colleagues were wounded when armed men opened fire on their car in a diplomatic area of the capital, Sana. Their Yemeni driver was also wounded in the assault, a security official said. President François Hollande described the attack as “cowardly,” and the European Union’s foreign policy chief, Catherine Ashton, called it “evil and senseless.”
