Teenager raped in Watlington, Oxfordshire

Police said the 19-year-old woman was assaulted on a track in Stoney Lane, Watlington, at 11:30 BST on Tuesday. The offender is described as a man of Mediterranean appearance, with short black hair and light stubble. He was wearing a leather jacket, bright blue jeans and sunglasses. A 30-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of rape and sexual assault. He is currently in police custody. Thames Valley Police believe the attacker was driving a yellow Fiat van. Det Insp Louise Roddy said: "I would like to reassure members of the community that sexual assaults such as these are extremely rare. "If you saw a man or a woman in the Stoney Lane area of Watlington at this time, or saw a yellow vehicle, then please contact police immediately via 101." |
