Version 0 of 1.

Travellers across Scotland will hear the result of which city will host the Commonwealth Games in 2014.

Commuters on trains, planes, taxis, buses, ferries and Glasgow's subway will be made aware of the result.

Tannoy systems, big screens or special announcements from drivers will reveal whether Glasgow has beaten its only competitor, Abuja in Nigeria.

All 71 members of the Commonwealth Games Federation will cast their votes in Colombo, Sri Lanka on Friday.

Derek Casey, Glasgow 2014 bid director, said: "Win or lose we believe we have put forward a strong bid for the Commonwealth Games in 2014.

"It is great to know that so many people in Scotland will get to hear the result, especially if they can't get to a TV or go online when the bid decision is reached."

BBC Scotland will broadcast the result live from Colombo on screens around Glasgow and on the news website.
