Cristiano Ronaldo suffers hamstring injury setback
Version 0 of 1. Cristiano Ronaldo is likely to miss Real Madrid's Copa del Rey final against Barcelona next Wednesday due to a hamstring injury. Ronaldo missed Saturday's win over Real Sociedad and Tuesday's Champions League game against Borussia Dortmund in Germany with a knee complaint, and now faces a longer spell on the sidelines, although Madrid did not say how long he would be out. "After Cristiano Ronaldo underwent tests, a muscular injury to his left hamstring has been detected," confirmed a club statement. Madrid lost 2-0 at Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday without Ronaldo, who has scored 45 goals in all competitions for the Spanish giants this season including a record-equaling 14 in the Champions League. However, his side advanced 3-2 on aggregate. Ronaldo is also now set to miss Saturday's game against Almería. Madrid trail La Liga's leaders, Atlético Madrid, by three points with six games to play. |
