A search for a suspect in a murder inquiry has been launched after a fatal stabbing in a block of flats.
Tony Wilkinson, 27, from Bournemouth, Dorset, fled the scene in a stolen car after Neil Hampson, 32, of Southampton, was attacked in the early hours.
A police spokesman said a fight broke out on the landing outside a 12th floor flat at Havre Tower in the Weston area of Southampton, Hampshire.
A 25-year-old man from Southampton has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
Mr Hampson, a single man from the Merryoak area, died at Southampton General Hospital and a murder investigation, codenamed Operation Wycliffe, was launched.
Mr Wilkinson suffered a serious facial wound and would have been bleeding profusely, police said.
He is believed to be in Bournemouth or Poole in Dorset and may be armed, a spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said.
She added: "The public are warned if they see him not to approach him but to call the police immediately by dialling 999.

Detective Inspector Darren O'Callaghan, from the major crime team, reassured residents it was "an isolated incident". |
