Police are searching for the driver of a white LDV van who snatched a 15-year-old girl from a street in Wrexham on Friday afternoon. | |
The girl was found safe early on Saturday morning around 70 miles away in Bangor, Gwynedd. | |
North Wales Police have named the driver as Alan Grant, who also goes by the name of Alan Weston and comes from Stockport in Greater Manchester. | |
They have warned people not to approach him, but to call 999 if they see him. | |
Officers said the girl had been snatched near Summerhill Road, in the Highfield area of Wrexham. | |
Police were called about 1600 BST on Friday, by a member of the public, who said the girl was being forced into the van, registration R474 GNB. | |
At about 1900 BST a 15-year-old girl was reported missing after she failed to return home. | |
She was found safe in Bangor just before 0700 BST on Saturday - but police throughout the UK are now looking for the man who abducted her, and his van, which had an orange beacon on the roof. | |
Det Supt Peter Chalinor of North Wales Police appealed to the public: "If you have seen the panel van - registration number R474 GNB- or a man matching the picture issued of Alan Grant/Weston - do not attempt to approach him but pick up the phone and get in touch with us immediately." | |
