Three die in two separate crashes

A family of three, including a seven-year-old boy, were also injured in the crash on the A6105 Chirnside to Duns road at 1645 BST on Saturday. The 25-year-old driver of the Ford Escort and his 18-year-old passenger both died at the scene. The family's injuries are not thought to be serious. At about the same time on Saturday, a motorcyclist was killed in a crash on the A84 Stirling to Lochearnhead road. His Kawasaki motorbike collided with a Ford van at 1645 BST, at the entrance to Strathyre Forest Cabins near Callander. The 58-year-old biker died but the occupants of the Ford were not injured. The road was closed for about six hours while police carried outinvestigations. Central Scotland Police and the Lothian and Borders force have appealed for any witnesses to the two crashes to contact them. |
