Street gang attack victim dies

An 84-year-old man who spent more than a week unconscious in hospital after he was attacked by a group of youngsters has died.

Mendal Webber suffered a serious head injury in the assault near his home in Gabrielle Close, Wembley, north-west London, on 17 October, police said.

A 13-year-old boy was charged with causing grievous bodily harm without intent following the incident.

The teenager will appear before Brent Youth Court on Monday.
