It took place at 1036 BST during Friday's episode of City Hospital, which is broadcast live from Guy's and St Thomas' hospitals in London. Baby Ariel was born to mum Nicole and both were reported to be doing well, while the family asked for their full names to be withheld. The first live birth - by Caesarean section - was broadcast on Five's two hour special on 8 October. Hosted by Nadia Sawalha, City Hospital is broadcast weekdays at 1000 BST on BBC One. The show's makers were reported to be pleased with capturing the event. The birth comes five years after US network ABC showed five such deliveries on its programme Super Baby Tuesday. |
