Version 0 of 1.

Five cars have been destroyed and three others damaged in a spate of arson attacks in north Belfast.

Vehicles were attacked in Silvio Street, Crimea Street, Canmore Close, Albany Place and Rusholme Street in the Shankill and York Road areas.

A number of motives are being investigated, although the attacks are not thought to be sectarian.

However, police say they may be linked to previous similar attacks going back to last year.

These include an incident on 23 December when seven cars were attacked in the Woodvale area.

Police have appealed for anyone with information about the arson attacks to contact them at Antrim Road PSNI station on 0845 6008000.
