Quinn murder 'was dastardly act' Paisley warning over Quinn murder

Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness has condemned those responsible for the murder of Paul Quinn as a criminal gang who carried out a dastardly act. First Minister Ian Paisley has asked the prime minister for his full support if it turns out the IRA were involved in the murder of a County Armagh man.
Speaking in the assembly, Mr McGuinness said he believed he spoke for the whole house in offering his sympathy. Paul Quinn, 21, from Cullyhanna, was beaten to death by a gang of men at farm sheds in County Monaghan.
Mr Quinn from Cullyhanna, died from injuries he received in a beating at farm sheds in Co Monaghan on Saturday. The DUP said IRA involvement "could collapse the political institutions" after Mr Quinn's family said the organisation had killed their son.
Former Sinn Fein politician Jim McAllister alleged he had been involved in recent rows with republicans. Sinn Fein's Gerry Adams has denied republicans were involved.

He said whoever was responsible for killing the 21-year-old should be brought to justice. However, speaking after talking to Gordon Brown, Mr Paisley said IRA involvement would have serious consequences.
The DUP received a briefing from Chief Constable Sir Hugh Orde on the murder. "If this murder was the work of the Provisional IRA then very serious consequences will flow from that," he said.
"As a party we have made it clear that there will be no place in government for those associated with murder.
"I encourage everyone to wait for the findings of the police, both in Northern Ireland and the Irish Republic.
"There will be no fudging of this issue and everyone must work to ensure that those responsible for such a callous murder are exposed and brought to justice."
