Arrest following 'siege' incident Man's body found in 'siege' house

A man has been arrested after police were called to a house in West Lothian following reports of a siege in a flat. Police investigations are continuing after a man's body was discovered at a house in a West Lothian village.
The alarm was raised at about 1600 BST on Sunday following reports of an incident in the village of East Calder. The find was made after an incident in East Calder at about 1600 BST on Sunday.
The incident ended shortly after 1800 BST, when a man was detained and taken away. Police later found the body of a man inside the house. A large number of officers were sent to the quiet village, responding to reports of a siege at a property.

A statement issued by the force said: "A man has been detained by police following an incident at a house in East Calder, West Lothian.

"Police are treating the death as suspicious and an investigation is continuing."
A woman who watched the operation told BBC Radio Scotland of her shock at the events unfolding on her doorstep.
"Nothing happens here, nothing at all," she said.
