A freak snowstorm has paralysed the city of Atlanta, Georgia, most notably with a massive traffic jam that left some motorists stranded in their vehicles overnight. With little else to do but sit tight and try to stay warm, Atlanta’s weary travellers and local reporters took to social media to document how their fellow citizens were coping with the storm. For those who wanted to move indoors, local fire stations and churches provided emergency response, offering shelter for those who had been stranded on the road.
