The president of Croatia is in Northern Ireland for a two-day visit.

President Stjepan Mesic is leading a group of Croatian business people to present the country's economy to the business community of Northern Ireland.

They hope to forge stronger economic links and foster investment and trade between the two countries.

The president is expected to meet the first and deputy first ministers, Ian Paisley and Martin McGuinness and the lord mayor of Belfast Jim Rodgers.

He will also address specially invited audiences at events hosted by Invest Northern Ireland and the School of Politics, International Studies and Philosophy at Queen's University.

President Mesic will also meet a group of children on an exchange visit from Croatia at Youth Action, a voluntary organisation based in Belfast.
