Man charged over Pc death crash

A 20-year-old man has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving after a crash in Bradford which claimed the life of a traffic police officer.

Pc Ian David Walker, 50, was on his way to work on his motorcycle on Wednesday when he was involved in a collision with a car on Bolton Road.

West Yorkshire Police said two other men arrested after the crash had been released without charge.

The man was due to appear before magistrates in Bradford on Saturday.

Family, friends and colleagues of Mr Walker earlier paid tribute to an "admired colleague" and "deeply loved" family man.

He joined West Yorkshire Police in 1980 and had recently joined the traffic department of Bradford North Division.
