Colombia's Farc accused over bomb attack that killed eight Deadly Colombia bomb attack blamed on Farc rebels
(1 day later)
Security forces in Colombia say a car bomb has destroyed a police station, killing at least eight people. At least eight people were killed when a car bomb exploded outside a police station in Colombia, authorities say.
The authorities blamed the attack in the south-western state of Cauca on left-wing Farc rebels. Officials said the country's largest rebel group, the Farc, was behind the attack in south-western Cauca province.
The vehicle exploded just as the town market in Inza was about to open on Saturday morning, killing military soldiers, police and two civilians. The vehicle exploded just as locals were gathering for a farmers' market in the town of Inza on Saturday.
The government and the Farc have been negotiating to end a 50-year war with an estimated 220,000 victims. The Colombian government and the rebels are currently holding peace negotiations in Cuba in an effort to end 50 years of armed conflict.
The attackers have also fired home-made mortars against the police base, local reports say. An estimated 220,000 people are believed to have died as a result of the conflict.

The targeted police station collapsed after blasts from the car bomb and several hand-made missiles, officials say. The Farc rebel group and government negotiators are holding peace talks in Cuba.
Farc rebel leaders are currently participating in peace negotiations with the Colombian government in Cuba, after recently agreeing on the second part of their six-point agenda. So far, they have reached agreement on two issues on their six-point agenda.
