Version 0 of 1.

A small Syrian military aircraft has crashed near Damascus, killing at least two people on board, witnesses say.

They reported that the plane came down on open ground in Muadamiet al-Sham district, 7km (four miles) west of the Syrian capital.

"The plane looked like a training aircraft. Two bodies were pulled from the wreckage," one of the witnesses told Reuters news agency.

There was no immediate confirmation or comment from government officials.

Another witness reported seeing a truck carrying the wreckage to the Mezzeh military airport.
