http://news.bbc.co.uk/go/rss/-/1/hi/uk/7028477.stm Version 0 of 1. A man accused of helping the failed July 21 plotters had a ripped-up list of bomb parts in his bin, a jury heard. Siraj Ali, 32, is also alleged to have had a notepad linked to one of the bombers, containing an Arabic script called "Steps to Martyrdom". He is one of five men accused of "actively assisting" those behind the attempted attacks in July 2005. The defendants deny 27 counts of failing to disclose information about terrorism and assisting an offender. Links The five defendants appearing at Kingston Crown Court include the brothers of Ramzi Mohammed and Hussein Osman, who were jailed for conspiracy to murder earlier this year. The jury was shown CCTV images of the four bombers' activities on July 21 when they tried to detonate their devices on tubes at Shepherd's Bush, Warren Street and Oval stations and on a bus in Shoreditch, east London. Earlier this year, Muktar Ibrahim, Yassin Omar, Mohammed and Osman were all jailed for life over the attempted attacks. Kingston Crown Court heard that Mr Ali lived above the Warren Street bomber Omar at Curtis House, a block of flats in New Southgate, north London. Max Hill, prosecuting, said the pair used to be part of the same foster family. Notepad He said when police raided Mr Ali's flat on July 25 they found a notepad containing the scribbled words 3g and 5kg, which allegedly referred to weight calculations for a detonator and main explosive charge. Mr Hill said it also contained the fingerprints of bus bomber Ibrahim and the martyrdom document was on another page under the name Muktar. Officers discovered the torn-up list of bomb parts in the waste paper bin. It included the words: "Wire 10m, bulb with lid, batteries, nail remover and bulb-hole". Under it were three words in Arabic which read: "Detonator, charge and Allah." On Wednesday, Kingston Crown Court was told the five men, all living in London, provided safehouses, passports, clothing and food in 2005. The five accused are Mr Ali, 32, from Enfield; Muhedin Ali, 29, from Ladbroke Grove; Ismail Abdurahman, 25, from Lambeth; Wahbi Mohammed, 25, from Stockwell, and Abdul Sherif, 30, from Stockwell. The trial continues. |
