The accident, which did not involve any other vehicles, happened just before 2100 BST on Wednesday on Holt Road in Lower Mannington, Wimborne. The 18-year-old driver of the Hyundai Accent and his 39-year-old passenger, both from Wimborne, died at the scene. A 24-year-old woman, the male passenger's partner, escaped from the car with only minor injuries. 'Traumatic events' A police spokesperson said: "As a result of the collision, the vehicle burst into flames and both males were trapped inside and were pronounced dead at the scene." The woman had suffered "substantial shock following these traumatic events", he added. Two fire crews attended the accident, arriving within eight minutes of the call, a spokesperson said. The road was closed between God's Blessing Lane and Horton Road while the wreckage was cleared. Police have appealed for people who saw the burgundy saloon car before the accident or earlier in the day to contact them. |
