A woman dressed like her and walking Scrappy recreated the journey. A 16-year-old boy has been arrested and is being questioned by police.
Supt Alun Harries, of Dyfed-Powys Police, said: "Kelly was much loved by her family and friends and we hope today's reconstruction will encourage people to come forward and piece together her last few hours. Ms Hyde had been battered around the head with a blunt instrument. Detectives are still searching for the murder weapon.
"I'm appealing for anyone who has any information regarding Kelly's murder to contact us." She had not been sexually assaulted.
Dyfed-Powys Police Superintendent Alun Harries said: "We've had a lot of very good information from the local community and one of the reasons we are here today is to reconstruct Kelly's last movements with a view to just reminding people we are very much still looking for any bit of information whatsoever for the final part of the jigsaw."
He added: "I'm appealing for anyone who has any information regarding Kelly's murder to contact us."
