Police in Wrexham have issued an appeal after a car was involved in a collision with a mobility scooter. Police have confirmed that they are looking for a hit-and-run driver after an elderly man on a mobility scooter was injured in a collision in Wrexham.
It is believed an elderly person was taken to Wrexham Maelor hospital following the incident in Gresford High Street at 21:26 BST on Friday. The grandson of 85-year-old Bill Jones posted a Facebook appeal following the incident in Gresford on Friday night.
Local people said the High Street was cordoned off at the junction with Chester Street. John Peake said Mr Jones was leaving Gresford British Legion around 21:30 BST when he was hit by a blue BMW car.
Anyone with information about a blue car, possibly a BMW, is asked to ring North Wales Police on 101. "He is currently in Wrexham Hospital and fortunately has only sustained minor injuries," Mr Peake wrote.
