The body was recovered by police divers on Sunday morning. The ambulance service said when crews arrived on Saturday they found two police officers searching in the water and fire crews also attended.
A group of young people was seen playing by water on Saturday, West Midlands Ambulance Service said. Incident support officer Martin Eaton, said: "The emergency services were called after a group of lads was seen playing beside the water.
One was seen to jump in but nobody saw him come out, a spokesman said. "One was seen to jump in but no-one saw him come out.
"Eventually after four hours, the emergency services took the difficult decision to call off the search and a police diving team was called."
The ambulance service added the body was found at about 1015 BST on Sunday in the water-filled clay pit.
