In the most recent development in the investigation into the disappearance of Madeleine McCann, British police say they are seeking an intruder who sexually abused young girls. Police investigating the disappearance of Madeleine McCann have sealed off an area of scrubland in the Algarve resort of Praia da Luz. Officers are expected to use dogs and "ground penetrating radar" to look for disturbed earth.
The man, suspected of assaulting five girls in holiday villas in Portugal, is said to have broken in to 12 properties in the Algarve between 2004 and 2010. The scrubland is being searched after a request from the Metropolitan Police, who launched a fresh investigation into Madeleine's disappearance last July.
