A man was seriously injured when he was stabbed as he stood outside a public house in Edinburgh, police said.

The 31-year-old man was outside Bar Sienne on Leith Walk, at about 2130 BST on Friday, when he was approached by three other men.

An argument took place and the victim received serious injuries. The suspects ran off and drove away in a silver car.

The suspects are said to be white, 16 to 20 years old with black hair. Police said the area was busy at the time.

A spokesman for Lothian and Borders Police said: "This is a particularly serious incident, which left the victim badly injured and requiring hospital treatment."
