Murder probe after man found dead

A 50-year-old man has been found dead in his home in Ayrshire, police said.

A murder investigation was launched after William Stewart was discovered at his house in Fleming Terrace, Irvine, at about 1030 BST on Friday.

Following a post-mortem examination his death is now being treated as murderand a report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.

Police want to speak to anyone who saw Mr Stewart between Wednesday evening and the time his body was discovered.
