Two quizzed over pensioner death

An investigation is under way into the death of a pensioner who was found seriously injured outside a newsagents.

The 80-year-old man was found outside Wiles Newsagents on Langsett Road, Sheffield, on Friday afternoon.

South Yorkshire Police said the injured man was taken to the Northern General Hospital for treatment but died later.

A post-mortem examination is expected to be carried out on Saturday to try to determine cause of death. Two men have been arrested and are being questioned.

Detectives appealed for anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.
