A fugitive who failed to appear for trial and was jailed in his absence for 11 sex offences has been caught.

Ian Butterworth, 49, from Potters Bar, was jailed at Luton Crown Court for 13-and-half-years.

A police spokesman said he was arrested in an Isle of Wight hospital on Thursday.

Butterworth was convicted of two charges of rape, one of indecent assault and eight offences of sexual acts with a child.
