Eli Roth's Goretorium to close down
http://www.theguardian.com/film/2013/oct/02/eli-roth-goretorium-closes Version 0 of 1. Eli Roth's Las Vegas attraction, The Goretorium, is to close permanently, almost exactly a year after opening and two and a half months after filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Roth posted a note on his tumblr saying: "I wish we could stay open through Halloween - we all do - but these are decisions beyond our control ... Ultimately, however, for a variety of reasons, the business was not sustainable as a year-round event." Described as "self-guided horror experience ... employing high-tech Vegas showmanship with old-fashioned scares", the Goretorium was intended as a year-round attraction fronted by the director of Hostel and The Last Exorcism. However, the Goretorium has faced complaints of high prices and poor customer service. According to the Las Vegas Sun, the bankruptcy filing followed a legal suit by design firm Creative Uprising, who alleged they had not been paid for work done on the Goretorium's branding and website.
