Woman charged with murder of man Woman on boyfriend murder charge
(about 1 hour later)
A 25-year-old woman is due to appear in Enniskillen Magistrates Court charged with murder. A 25-year-old woman has appeared in a County Fermanagh court charged with murdering her boyfriend.
It is believed the charge is connected to the death of a teenager in County Fermanagh last week. The body of Garry Elliott, 19, was found in a house in Townhill Park, Irvinestown on Sunday night. He had been stabbed.
The 19-year-old man died after being stabbed at a house in Townhill Park in Irvinestown late on 23 September. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Kerri Cassidy from the same address appeared at Enniskillen Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
Police said the charges would be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service, as is normal procedure. She spoke only to confirm her identity and that she understood the charges. Ms Cassidy was remanded in custody.
Security was tight outside the court as the accused arrived in the back of a police car.
As the charge was read out in court, relatives of both the victim and the accused broke down in tears.
They included the accused's mother, Geraldine Cassidy, a former Sinn Fein councillor and chair of Fermanagh District Council.
A bail application on behalf of the accused will be heard on Monday.
