Behind the scenes with the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight

Photographer and author Keith Wilson spent the best part of a year documenting the work of the RAF's Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (BBMF), an aerial display group regularly seen at events commemorating World War II.

Based at RAF Coningsby in Lincolnshire, the BBMF consists of a small number of historic aircraft, including Spitfires, Hurricanes and one of only two surviving airworthy Avro Lancasters.

During Mr Wilson's time with the flight, he witnessed the climax of a three-year programme to restore PZ865 - the last Hurricane ever built.

Here, Mr Wilson and Squadron Leader Stu Reid (retired) talk about the challenge of maintaining these hugely important aircraft, as well as the thrill and privilege of flying the famous Lancaster bomber.
