Police are asking football fans to help trace a man accused of involvement in violence before a game between Lincoln City FC and Luton Town FC. Around 21 people were arrested after supporters clashed inside The Ritz pub in Lincoln on 6 October 2012. So far 12 people have pleaded guilty to violent disorder and four more are due to go on trial in November. Officers believe one Luton fan who is still wanted may be at a match between the two teams on Saturday. 'Serious incident' Trouble flared at the pub in High Street, Lincoln, before the group spilled out onto the street. Furniture and glasses were thrown during the violence and two women were treated at Lincoln Hospital for minor injuries from flying glass. Lincolnshire Police football liaison officer PC Andy Pearson, said he was confident the man would be identified. "Almost a year on from the incident this offender is still outstanding," he said. "We believe he is a Luton supporter as he was with the Luton group on the day of the game, but he could live anywhere in the country. "This was a serious incident which happened in a family pub when people were going about their normal business and we will not stop until we have identified him." Anyone who recognises the man is asked to call Lincolnshire Police. |
