The jury trying a music teacher in Dorset for six sexual attacks on two children has been discharged by Judge John Harrow at Dorchester Crown Court.

"There have been developments in this case overnight, as a result of which I have decided it is not possible for this trial to begin today," he said.

Ian Garland, 30, from Weymouth, Dorset, denies the charges.

The music teacher will stand trial at a later date. He was also given conditional bail on Monday.

Mr Garland is charged with four counts of sexual activity with a 15-year-old boy between 1 March 2006 and 1 September 2006.

The concert pianist is also alleged to have indecently assaulted a girl when she was 12 years old between 16 December 2000 and 15 December 2001, and two years later when she was 14 between 16 December 2002 and 15 December 2003.
