Stabbed boy's family 'devastated' Four-year-old stab victim named

The family of a four-year-old boy who was stabbed to death say they cannot believe what has happened and have been left "devastated". Police have named the four-year-old boy who was stabbed to death at a house in West Yorkshire at the weekend.
Police described the attack, which also left a 14-year-old girl with serious knife wounds, as "not random". Ryan Hawkins was found badly injured in a house on Royd Street in Slaithwaite at lunchtime on Sunday.
Both victims were taken to hospital after the incident on Sunday, in Royd Street, Slaithwaite, West Yorkshire. The boy died a short time later. Police said the attack, which also left a 14-year-old girl with knife wounds, was "not random". Both victims were taken to hospital; Ryan later died.
Police are treating the case as murder. Two men, one aged 47, are being held. Two men, aged 30 and 47, have been arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder.
Det Supt Tim Forber, of West Yorkshire Police, said: "This has been a very serious incident which has seen the life of a four-year-old boy having been brought to a tragic end and left a 14-year-old girl in hospital with serious stab wounds. 'Absolutely tragic'

"There is a team of dedicated detectives working on this inquiry and we are in the process of speaking to a number of witnesses. Forensic and house-to-house inquiries are ongoing.
"I do not believe this was a random attack and we are currently building up a picture as to what happened to Ryan in the last moments of his life.
"It's absolutely tragic that a four-year-old boy has died in such circumstances and we would appeal to anyone who may have information as to what happened to contact us."
