A Cambridgeshire man has been charged with murdering a two-month-old baby. A Cambridgeshire man has appeared in court charged with murdering a baby girl.
Officers said they attended Peterborough City Hospital last Thursday evening after reports of a "sudden death". Two-month-old Aukse Medvedevaite arrived at Peterborough City Hospital on Thursday night and was confirmed dead an hour later, police said.
Aurimas Medvedevas, 22, of Clifton Avenue, Peterborough, is due to answer the charge at the city's magistrates' court later. Aurimas Medvedevas, of Clifton Avenue, Peterborough, was remanded in custody at the city's magistrates' court to attend Cambridge Crown Court this week.
Cambridgeshire Police has not yet revealed how the baby died. A post-mortem examination revealed Aukse died of head injuries.
Cambridgeshire Police said they were contacted by the hospital after reports of a "sudden death".
Mr Medvedevas, who police said was the partner of the baby's mother, was arrested while at the hospital.
