Man held over Le Vell trial Facebook post

A man has been arrested on suspicion of breaching the anonymity granted to protect the identity of the alleged victim of Coronation Street actor Michael Le Vell.

Greater Manchester Police arrested a 43-year-old from the Trafford area over a Facebook post about the actor's trial at Manchester Crown Court.

Mr Le Vell, 48, denies 12 charges including five of rape.

Victims in sex abuse cases are granted anonymity for life.

The soap star, who has played garage mechanic Kevin Webster in the ITV1 soap for 30 years, is being tried under his real name Michael Turner.

Separately, a 28-year-old man was interviewed on Thursday under caution in relation to a tweet that was sent about the alleged victim.

And on Wednesday, a 43-year-old Gloucester man was arrested for a similar offence.
