Non-combat deaths
The deaths take the total number of UK troops killed while on operations in Afghanistan since 2001 to 81.
Of the 81, 25 died from accidents, illness, or non-combat injuries, according to the MoD.
On Monday, 29-year-old Lance Corporal Ivano Violino, of the 20 Field Squadron, 36 Engineer Regiment, was killed in an explosion.
He was part of a logistics convoy near Gereshk, in Helmand, when they were hit.
Another soldier suffered injuries which are not thought to be life-threatening. Both were flown by helicopter to a medical facility at Camp Bastion.
