The man, aged in his 30s, died shortly after police were called to reports of an assault at a property in Scarborough at about 23:40 BST on Wednesday. | |
North Yorkshire Police said four men were arrested a short time later at an address on Queen's Terrace. | |
Police said an area of Eastborough, between Foreshore Road and Globe Street, had been closed. | |
Ch Insp Mark Grange described the attack as an "isolated incident". | |
He added: "Officers are undertaking high visibility patrols in the area while enquiries continue. | |
"This is to provide extra reassurance to the local community who are naturally concerned by what has happened." |
