Thailand: Court Finds Soldiers Killed 6 at Temple
http://www.nytimes.com/2013/08/07/world/asia/thailand-court-finds-soldiers-killed-6-at-temple.html Version 0 of 1. A Thai court said Tuesday that soldiers killed six people in 2010 at a Buddhist temple during the military crackdown on antigovernment demonstrators in Bangkok. The inquest found that six people, mostly protesters, had been shot by soldiers who were on elevated train tracks and the ground. Nattapat Akkahad, a brother of a volunteer nurse who was killed, said he was happy about the ruling and called for the army personnel responsible to be prosecuted. About 90 people were killed in 2010 when the demonstrators occupied central Bangkok for weeks before the army crackdown. |
