Pavlo Lapshyn appears in court over Mohammed Saleem murder

Postgraduate student Pavlo Lapshyn was charged after Mohammed Saleem was stabbed in April while walking home from a mosque after prayers. Lapshyn, 25, is also accused of three further offences relating to three explosions near mosques in Walsall, Wolverhampton and Tipton. He was remanded in custody at a hearing at the Old Bailey. He will next appear on 21 October and a provisional trial date has been set for 14 Jan 2014. There was no application for bail. Lapshyn is charged with murder, engaging in conduct of preparation of terrorist acts, and two counts of unlawfully and maliciously causing an explosion with the intent to danger life or cause serious injury. |
